The Perfect Pumpkin Patch

If you live in the Cheshire area and you want to find the perfect pumpkin, then I highly recommend you take a visit to Red House Farm near Dunham Massey. We always buy at least one pumpkin a year and take some time out to have a fun afternoon carving it together! (I don’t like to pull out the insides! Yuk). This year we wanted to BUH a few more as Thom is planning on making something with the insides once we have carved them.

The farm itself has a huge pumpkin patch which you can walk around yourself and decide which ones take your fancy. They offer 3 different sizes with different prices ranging from around £2.  The good thing about it is they just leave you to it to do your own thing.

It’s the cutest place ever. It was very quiet on the day we went which was even better for us to take our time and leisure choose.  The farm also offers a free play area for children with extra fun activities in school holidays! Halloween and Christmas look like so much fun! They provide an inflatable slide and climbing walls to keep the little ones busy. They also have a tea room which we didn’t stop in this time, however I do plan on returning to try it out. It’s a perfect little patch to visit and I can’t wait to take my children in the future. They provide so much entertainment and coffee for the grown ups! Win win! It was a nice afternoon to blow the cobwebs off and reset my mind.

We needed a few more extra small pumpkins so we stopped off at a farm shop close to home to get them. ( I have no idea of the name!!) We’ve been here every year since we got together and they are really good prices! They are even selling weird and wonderful pumpkins which I have rarely seen before! They are so so cute! It also gave me a perfect opportunity to test out my new iphone8 plus camera.  (It is amazing)

Halloween truly makes me feel like winter is finally approaching and my favourite time of the year is coming!! Also….Dunham Massey is just absolutely beautiful, I’ve made a mental note to go walking there during these autumn months. You should too!

  1. I love Dunham Massey. It is such a lovely place to visit – especially during the winter months when it’s all mystical-looking! Weirdly last night I was googling ‘pick your own pumpkins’ and it’s something I seriously want to try and do this week. If anything the pumpkins themselves look so cool – I just don’t think I could make a decision about which one to bring home… and would probably fill the car with them! Oh well, it’s only Autumn every so often!

  2. What an amazing, autumnal activity. Loving all the pictures of the gnarly pumpkins 😀 Just looked up and noticed a link to ‘Pizza & Prosecco Festival’ I’m reading that next! xx
